The vehicle above dismantled and marked ** , has an interesting history ; it began as a Mersey Railway Composite in 1877 (number unknown) and in 1906 it was one of six that were purchased by the Liskeard & Looe Railway where it became number 4. In 1912 it came under the ownership of the original Great Western Railway and was re-numbered to 6126, in 1917 the GWR transferred it to the Rhondda & Swansea Bay Railway as a replacement for a scrapped vehicle, where it became number 79. After the grouping in 1923, it was reverted back to the new GWR, and in 1924 was re-built as a 4 Compartment 3rd and re-numbered to 4195, it was finally withdrawn in 1927.
