Notes:

Huge thanks go to John Tate for arranging and hosting our visit, along with Steve Gregory who also hosted.

IR - Items marked IR were in the Ian Riley engineering facility. Visits are not currently permitted here, however we were able to view from the perimeter. Running number details taken from 16EL / last CARS sightings, however all loco's were being worked on, and some were frame only. Parts from Steam 7229 - Sdn/35 were noted, the frames are believed to be on site but not distinguished amid other items on this occasion. In January 01003 carried a works plate of AB 397 on at least 1 side. The opposite side was inspected this time and that plate reads AB 398. The body of D5705 is wrapped in tarpaulin in Buckley Wells yard, and its bogies are in Castlecroft shed being worked on. DEMU 8099 was re-gauged from 5ft 3", and is now used for storage. L&Y Carriage 975154; This is listed on some sites as 2333 1856? 24C 13245 6513, however there is strong opinion that the vehicle is 604 (12160 6533 DB975154). Quote from John Hall, as supplied by Peter Hall. "975152/975153 and 975154 were part of an exhibition train that was running around in the late 1960's formed of four coaches W1315W later 975152, W2771W later 975153, M6513M and M6533M. One of the latter two became 975154. I am of the opinion that 975154 is actually M6533M previously an L&Y coach built in 1910 to diagram 105 as L&Y 604 and later LMS 12160 before being renumbered M6533M. My reason for this is that I have received some paperwork that states Exhibition coach M6513M was sold for scrap, believed from Springs Branch, to C.C.Crump Ltd Connah Quay and delivered on 07/09/1971." Wagon W 36280 carries a fictitious number as its original identity isn't known. There is also some confusion as to whether its ROF number was 260 or 269. Locomotive tender: There was a complete Southern Region tender, which may possibly belong to 35027 but that is unconfirmed.

Currently away: Steam: 34067 was on mainline duties, 45231 at Bluebell Rly, 45337 at North Norfolk Rly, 62005 at Carnforth WCRC, 71000 at Crewe Heritage Centre. Diesel: 37901 at Mid-Hants Rly. 55022 Hired to GBRF for mainline EMU stock movements around Glasgow. No longer at ELR: Steam: 6201 to Tyseley, 8572 to North Norfolk Rly. Diesel: 08704 sold by HNRC to Riviera Trains at Crewe Diesel Depot. 37518 sold by Ian Riley to WCRC at Carnforth. TH V327 was scrapped on site c2010. No longer at Ian Riley: Steam 48518. The boiler and cylinders are at Llangollen for use in the 'County' Class new build project. The cab is also at Llangollen. Reports on the internet suggested that what's left of the frames were to move to the Gloucester Warwickshire Railway.

Bury Tram Station**. Tram: 3021. Stoke Gifford Yard (view)**. Diesel: 66613.
