The line was closed during the morning whilst the location became a BT police crime scene and repairs took place, reopening during the late afternoon.

Industrial & Preservation Matters

Nameplate Sale
A former GWR locomotive nameplate 'One and All' has been sold for £29,950 at a memorabillia sale in Warwickshire. The plate belonged to Bulldog loco number 3351 which was built at Swindon in 1900 and has been purchased by a private collector.

Somerset &Dorset Railway Heritage, Midsomer Norton South station.
A LSWR signal has now been put into position at the preservation centre, being welded back into an original concrete base which was installed in 1949. When the line part of the Somerset & Dorset route from Bath to Bournemouth closed in 1966, the original signal did remain in position until 1970 when it disappeared, assumed stolen, the 'new' signal was provided by the Avon Valley railway at Bitton. More track materials including concrete sleepers are to be delivered over the coming weeks so track can be relaid in the two platform station area.
