NOTES ON OTHER SITES VISITED

1. KVAERNER MARKHAM PLC, CHESTERFIELD

This plant has now closed. The locomotive was said to still be present (locked in a shed) by the security guard. However, the guard would not allow the party on site.

2. BIWATER INDUSTRIES, CLAY CROSS

On arrival at the site, various employees/security guards explained that there were no longer any items of railway interest on site. This being contrary to the telephone conversation between the Events Secretary and a Section Manager, who was supposdly meeting the party for a visit. His non appearance brought on the decision not to visit the site.
